Aktivitas Antibakteri Daun Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) Terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus (Review Artikel)
Abstract
Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) is a wild plant that is often considered a pest by the community but is effective in treating various diseases such as diarrhea, as an antibacterial, wound healing and snake bites. Based on the results of phytochemical screening, it is known that Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) contains flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, phenols and tannins. These compounds are known to have the ability to inhibit bacterial growth. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This type of research is a literature review. The research articles reviewed were published from 2009-2020. The study began by collecting articles using the keywords "Putri Malu", "Putri Malu + Staphylococcus aureus", "Mimosa pudica", "Mimosa pudica + Staphylococcus aureus" that tested the antibacterial activity of Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) leaves against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from the Google Scholar and Science Direct databases. Based on the study of antibacterial activity, it was found that Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica) leaf extract was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and was included in the strong category. This result depends on the type of solvent and concentration used.
