Abstract

Inroduction : Joint inflammation occurs as a result of the body's immune system attacking its own tissues. Based WHO data (2018), 20% of the world's population suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and increases in old age. Joint disorders experienced by peoole with rheumatoid artistritis will impact on their physical problems such as sleep disturbance (insomnia). Prevalence of insomnia in Indonesia among the elderly is relatively high about 67% of the 65-year-old population.(Sulistyarini & Santosa 2016).One of the physical exercise that can overcome sleep disturbance is by doing exercise for elderly. The purpose of this search is to review articles about the Effectiveness of Physical Exercise on Sleep Disturbances in the Elderly with Rhethumatic Arthritis Disorder. Materials and Method:The type of research used is literature review which is conducted in national and international based database namely, Google Scholar and Pubmed. Based on the terms of inclusion and exclusion, the authors obtanied samples of 6 articles that were used for literature review.Result:After reviewing articles on the effectiveness of physical exercise on sleep disturbance  in elderly with rheumatic arthritis, physical exercise can reduce the scale of insomnia experienced by the elderly.Conclusion: Based on the result of article review, there is an effect physical exercise on elderly who experience insomnia, by conducting physical activity regularly for 30 minutes, twice a week for 2-3 weeks and the longer the week of ohysical exercise, the more effective  it will be in dealing with sleep disturbances.
