Abstract

Background: The family planning program is an appropriate effort to reduce birth rates through the use of contraceptives. Implant contraceptives are contraceptives placed under the skin. In 2016 at Puskesmas Ranomut, Paal Dua Sub-district, Manado City, the number of fertile couples (PUS) 2060 with active active participant is 800 (38,8%) acceptors, not yet reached national target of 75% with injection acceptor 436 (54,5%) , 218 pill (27,2%), condom 142 (17,7%), implant 4 (0,5%). The Objective: of this study was to replace factors associated with the use of implantable contraceptive devices at Ranomut Health Center, Paal Dua Sub-District, Manado City.
Method: This type of research is an analytical survey with cross sectional approach. The number of samples is 89 samples and the sampling technique is accidental and the data analysis using chi-square test with significance value α = 0,05.
Research Results: The results of the study most respondents prefer contraception and pill injection rather than implants. Factors relating to the use of implant contraception are knowledge with ρ value = 0.016 and age with ρ value = 0.006.
Conclusion: The better the knowledge of the respondents the more respondents who choose to use implant contraceptives. Suggestion: Therefore, it is suggested that Ranomut Public Health Center is more intensive in giving counseling about contraception, especially implant contraception.
