CORRELATION ANYLISIS OF D-PERSONALITY TYPE WITH BLOOD PRESSURE OF PEOPLE IN PATETEN WARD AERTEMBAGA SUB-DISTRICT BITUNG CITY

Abstract

Blood pressure is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular system disorders. However limited research on relation between related to blood pressure factors and D-type personality is still limited. The purpose of this research is to analyze the D-type personality relationship with people's blood pressure in Pateten I Ward, Aertembaga Sub-district, Bitung City. Method of research is using Descriptive analytical with Cross Sectional design approach towards 102 respondents with simple random sampling technique. The research was conducted from June 1st to June 20th, 2017. The instrument used was the D-type personality questionnaire and spignomanometer. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution presented in table form and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. Chi-Square analysis with significance level 95% at α = 0,05 obtained X2 = 10,123 with p value = 0,001 <0,05, shows that there is a significant relation between D-type personality and blood pressure. Suggestions, there should be for further research development related to intervention towards clients with D-type personalities as an attempt to lower blood pressure
