Abstract
Uric acid is a normal metabolism of protein digestion or from the decomposition of purine compounds removed through the kidney, feces or sweat. The purpose of this study to determine the difference between the frequency of eating outside the home, diet, and uric acid levels in vegetarians and non vegetarians in the village of Poniki.
This type of research is descriptive observational analytic with cross sectional approach. This study describe differences in the frequency of eating outside the home, diet and uric acid levels in vegetarians and non vegetarians. This research was conducted in Poniki village of Pasan Minahasa Southeast as a vegetarian pesco and non vegetarian with a sample of 70 sample that is 35 samples of vegetarians and 35 sample of non vegetarian sample fulfilling inclusion criteria. Data collection was done by interview to know the frequency of eating outside the home by using questionnaires and diet with semi ffq form.Univariate analysis was done by descriptive and bivariate analysis using different test of mann withney with p value α = 0,05.
The result showed there was a significant difference with the value of p 0,001 (p<0,05) at the frequency of eating outdoors between diet on shrimp food, mackerel fish, squid and crab with p valuen p<0,05. And there were differences in uric acid levels in both vegetarian groups with statistical test result of p = 0,001 (p<0,05) which means there is adifference between the frequency of eating outdoors, diet, and uric acid levels in vegetarian non vegetarians in the village Poniki subdistrict Pasan Minahasa southeast.
