Abstract

Introduction: Teaching correct behavior to prevent family members from contracting the Covid-19 disease by practicing clean and healthy living behavior. Women are considered capable of playing a dual role in a pandemic situation and have a strategic role through the family in increasing public awareness of Covid-19. The aim of this community service is to provide education on preventing the transmission of Covid-19 and food sources of vitamins and minerals to increase the immune system of the community and women. Islamic Women's Harmony at the Al-Muhajirin Mosque, West Malalayang I Village, Manado City.

Method: Community service begins with a survey of activity locations and approaching the local government. Educational activities through LCD and distribution of leaflets. Evaluation is carried out before, during and at the end of education as well as follow-up regarding knowledge and behavior.

Results: The knowledge level of KWI mothers before education was 58.1% good and 41.9% poor. After education, 78.4% were good and 21.6% were poor. Compliance with wearing a mask when outside the home is 86.5% compliant and 13.5% non-compliant, washing hands with soap 79% compliant and 21% non-compliant, avoiding shaking hands 88.5% compliant and 11.5% non-compliant , avoiding crowds 44.2% complied and 55.8% did not comply and kept a distance 90.4% complied and 9.6% did not comply.

Conclusion: There is an increase in knowledge about preventing Covid-19 transmission and body immunity among KWI mothers after education. Most KWI women still adhere to wearing masks, washing their hands with soap, avoiding shaking hands, avoiding crowds and maintaining distance when outside the house.
