Introduction: Adolescents often face high academic pressure in school, while the family environment can also play a crucial role in their mental well-being. However, the relationship between family functioning, academic burnout, and suicide ideation among adolescents remains not fully understood. Research Objective: The aim of this study is to understand how family functioning and academic burnout influence the risk of suicide ideation among adolescents. Method: This study employed a correlational design with a cross-sectional method, involving 78 twelfth-grade students from SMA Patriot in the Peterongan District, Jombang Regency, East Java. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression tests. Results: The findings reveal a significant relationship between good family functioning and low levels of academic burnout with a lower risk of suicide ideation among adolescents. Conclusion: Efforts to enhance family functioning and alleviate academic burnout may play a crucial role in reducing the risk of suicide ideation among adolescents.
