Abstract

Nosocomial infections are defined as infection that develop during hospital stay of a patient; that are neither present nor in the incubation periode. People served health service, medical personel and hospital visitor, have at risk to nosokomial infection about 20%. Therefore this research has learned nurse attitude in effort to prevent nosocomial infection at hospital by practice the health believe model.
The research method is a descriptive analytic with a cross sectional study approach. The total respondents of 80 person. Match to the criteria of 80 respondent. The methods of data collections are direct observations, then continuous with interview and filling the questioners about knowledge and attitudes respondent in infections, consist of variable susceptibility, variable seriousness, variable benefits and barriers. In practice to prevent nosocomial infection. The data were collected using questioners tabulated and then analyzed using correlations product moment test.
The results of this research showed that, susceptibility variable has correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice (pvalue=0,001, < 0,05), severity of infection variable has correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice (p value=0,001, <0,05), benefit of infection nosocomial preventive prosedure variable has correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice (pvalue=0,001, < 0,05) and barrier of infection nosocomial preventive prosedure does not have correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice (p value = 0,201, > 0,05). Susceptibility variable has correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice, severity variable has correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice, benefits variable has correlation with nosocomial infection pratice, barrier variable does not have correlation with nosocomial infection preventive practice
