Gambaran Kadar Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) Dalam Darah Pada Mahasiswa Obesitas di Poltekkes Manado
Abstract
Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) is a lipoprotein that has the function of transporting cholesterol to tissues, if there is too much LDL in the blood vessels, the longer there will be a buildup of LDL in the artery walls which causes atherosclerosis. One of the factors that increase LDL is obesity. Obesity is a condition where there is excessive fat accumulation in the body. The purpose of this research was to determine LDL levels in obese students at Poltekkes Manado.
This research uses descriptive method with purposive sampling technique. A sample of 30 people who met the inclusion criteria was then examined for LDL levels using the Microlab 300 instrument at the UPTD Regional Health Laboratory of North Sulawesi Province, the data collected was analyzed descriptively, presented in tabular form and then narrated.
The results showed 20 respondents suffered from obesity type I and 10 obese people type II, including 11 respondents who had LDL levels above normal values. Of the 11 respondents, 1 person consumed junk food more than 4 times a week, 2 people consumed fruit and vegetables 1 time a week and 8 people never exercised in a week. It can be concluded that LDL levels in obese students are not influenced by the type of obesity, consumption of fruits and vegetables and junk food but are influenced by exercise.
