Perbandingan Nilai Hematokrit Pada Tabung Yang Diberi EDTA Secara Manual Dan Tabung EDTA Vacutainer Pada Mahasiswa Pria Prodi D3 Teknologi Laboratorium Medis
Abstract
Hematocrit examination is one of the most accurate and simple methods for detecting anemia or polycythemia. Ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) is often used because this anticoagulant has no effect on the size and shape of erythrocytes and leukocytes, and prevents platelets from clumping. This type of research uses analytical descriptive method. The population is male students majoring in medical laboratories, 38 respondents were sampled using saturated sampling technique. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the hematocrit value with EDTA Manual anticoagulant obtained the highest hematocrit value of 51% and the lowest hematocrit value of 40% with the average value obtained was 46.9%. While the hematocrit value with EDTA Vacutainer obtained the highest hematocrit value of 51% and the hematocrit value of 40%. With the average value obtained is 46.7%. The Mann-Whitney statistical test obtained p=0.700 (p>0.05). Based on the examination of the hematocrit value, it can be ensured that there is no significant difference between the use of Manual EDTA Anticoagulants and EDTA Vacutainer.
